Project Description

The Town of Lovettsville, VA, is proposing to replace approximately 1,250 linear feet of aging 6-inch transite (asbestos) water main along Quarter Branch Road with 8-inch ductile iron pipe. The existing pipe was installed between 1969 and 1972 and is increasingly vulnerable to deterioration, leaks, and failure. Replacement of the water main will include replacement of existing residential connections, installation of a new fire hydrant, and abandonment of the existing pipe. These improvements will enhance hydraulic capacity, improve fire flow availability, and strengthen overall system reliability for residents.
