Project Description

The recipient is proposing to support the District of Columbia’s lead service line replacement programs, which include: 1. Providing financial assistance to support the Lead Pipe Replacement Assistance Program (LPRAP) and the House-by-House Program (HxH). These programs provide financial assistance to individual homeowners through the District Department of Energy and Environment and DC Water to replace lead service lines on private property where partial replacements were previously completed or where priority replacements are needed to address a vulnerable population. 2. Providing financial assistance to support DC Water’s Emergency Repair Program, which replaces connected lead service lines when emergency repairs are conducted and necessary. 3. Providing financial assistance to conduct test pitting of properties that, based on historic records and recent findings, have shown a likelihood of having lead service lines. If found to have lead service lines, funding would be available to replace these lines
