Title
Community Grant for Boonsboro, MD - Drinking Water Reservoir Replacement ProjectDocument Number
N2026032Document Type
CATEXProject Description
The Town of Boonsboro is located in the mountains of western Maryland and is home to roughly 3,553 people. It shares a jointly owned, operated, and maintained water system with the neighboring Town of Keedysville. Because of the age of the existing reservoir and excessive leakage of up to 30%, the existing 1.5 million gallon (MG) reservoir will be replaced by a 1.0 MG multi-basin concrete tank. The tank will consist of a single elliptical structure, divided in the middle to create two separate 500,000 gallon basins. The newly divided tank will be built on the same site adjacent to the existing reservoir. The reservoir is tied into the water distribution system with a 12-inch ductile iron pipe which is more than 50 years old and will also be replaced as part of this project.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
