he proposed project objective is to restore and improve the sanitary sewer infrastructure along Straw Avenue while ensuring long-term system reliability. This project will reconstruct and stabilize the collapsed sewer line, preventing further roadway failures and public safety hazards. By addressing the system’s deterioration, it will also reduce excessive inflow and infiltration and improve wastewater management efficiency. Bellevue Borough, home to 8,311 residents, is a densely populated community where maintaining reliable wastewater infrastructure is essential. The collapsed Straw Avenue sewer line highlights the need for proactive investment to prevent future disruptions, ensure environmental compliance, and to protect public health. The collapsed portion of the sewer line will be excavated and replaced with 930 linear feet of 8-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sanitary main. Where necessary, existing sewer alignments will be adjusted, and new manholes will be installed to improve access and maintenance capability. Eighteen lateral sewer reconnections will be made to ensure that all existing service lines from homes and businesses remain properly connected. Additionally, the project will involve curing existing pipes with a trenchless process, where applicable, to reinforce sections of the sewer system without requiring full excavation. Once construction is complete, roadway restoration will be performed, including pavement replacement and any necessary stabilization of the roadway surface
