Project Description

The proposed project will construct a dedicated hauled grease receiving facility that will separate hauled fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from other waste streams at the LPWRP, provide grease pretreatment (screening) and equalization/blending, and allow the grease to be fed into the plant’s existing anaerobic digesters where it will be broken down and converted into biogas. This project, which is within the existing footprint of the LPWRP, will reduce operational complications caused by introducing grease into the front end of the plant’s treatment process and thus utilize the received grease to increase biogas generation.
