Project Description

The community grant funded portion of the proposed project will replace approximately 2,550 linear feet (LF) of 6-inch diameter cast iron water line with 8-inch diameter PVC, three 8-inch diameter gate valves, three fire hydrants, and necessary fittings and services connections. The overall project along Big Sewickley Creek Road and Ambridge Avenue will replace 4,200 LF of 6-inch cast iron water line with 8-inch PVC, with 75 service connections. This portion of the project will provide 42 households with improved water quality and fire protection. It will replace a water line that has experienced numerous failures, resulting in customers being without water until the water line is repaired. This area also currently has inadequate fire protection. Additionally, a limited number of lead service lines will be replaced with copper service lines.
