Project Description

The City of Louisa is planning to construct a new 1.0 million gallon per day (MGD) Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) adjacent to the existing WWTP in Louisa, KY, decommission most of the existing WWTP, upgrade the influent lift station, and rehabilitate the existing collection system. The new 1.0 MGD WWTP would have a modular design allowing for future expansion of the WWTP. The existing force main from the High Bottom Lift Station would be rerouted to the new WWTP. This relocation would eliminate pumping the wastewater through the Town Branch Lift Station. Construction activities would include site work, construction of plant components, and some work in the collection system to reduce inflow and infiltration. The EPA Community Grant would be utilized for sitework, construction of the SBR, and sludge holding facilities.
