CATEXProject Description
EPA issued a categorical exclusion on May 13, 2024, for the School District of the City of Pontiac grant award for the project located at 650 N. Saginaw Street, Pontiac, MI 48342. Pontiac has since revised the project location. The new project location is at Pontiac High School located at 1051 Arlene Ave, Pontiac, MI 48340. The site is owned by the School District of the City of Pontiac. First Student provides pupil transportation services to the School District of the City of Pontiac. Pontiac will install the electric vehicle charging stations and will operate and maintain the electric school buses. All EV charging station installation sites will use First Students Mobile Design, which involves trenchless technology using above-ground equipment installation and cabling that is housed inside and disseminated from a cargo container. Conduit, cabling, and chargers are mounted to K-Rails, which can be set in any configuration to accommodate space and parking and act as a solid buffer if a bus makes impact.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
