The City of Thomson, GA proposes to improve the stormwater system by creating two new stormwater detention ponds within a 1.8-acre area (each 18,000 square feet), replacing existing stormwater pipes and infrastructure (ROW total length of 1,300 feet), and installing additional storm grates along three streets in city. The entire area of the project is approximately 1.5 acres. This project is designed to prevent flooding of residential and commercial areas and address issues that will alleviate potential water quality problems in the surrounding areas. The two new stormwater detention ponds will be located on 1st Avenue and at the south end of Church Street. Stormwater pipes and infrastructure will be located along Grady Street (approximately 250 feet), Church Street (approximately 400 feet), and 1st Avenue (approximately 650 feet).EPA Region/Headquarters Office
