CATEXProject Description
The First Environments Early Learning Center (FEELC) is the local daycare on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) campus in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. It is a shared resource for both the EPA and the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) employees. These various age groups share six outdoor play areas, some of which are exposed to long, sunny hours. This exposure has caused a multitude of issues from overheating play equipment to causing harmful sun exposure for the young children. The purpose of this project is to remove several existing shade structures and implement a more unified approach to shade structures, to create a better shade strategy and a more aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
