Project Description

The City of Aurora is seeking federal funds through an EPA Community Grant to replace aged pressure reducing valves and their vaults as well as appurtenances required for the system due to diminished operability due to corrosion and age, structural issues with the vaults, and improved safety for maintenance access. Pressure reducing valves, sometimes called safety relief valves, protect against excessive pressure within the water distribution system which could cause water leaks, damage to pipelines or affect water supply to the community. The Project involves relocation and upgrading of pressure reducing valves in 14 locations.
