Project Description

This proposed project will install a new roof structure over the sand filter. The existing 25-year-old shed roof structure is starting to rot creating a risk for environmental contamination. The project will also include the replacement of approximately 750 feet of ductile/cast iron waterline located along 3rd Street under the state road and sidewalk. This undersized section of line has broken multiple times over the past several years and is very costly to repair due to the location. The Borough will run a new 6-inch PVC water main on the inside of the sidewalk and abandon the old line. The upgrade in line size will allow for proper fire protection. Ten service lines and a fire hydrant will be replaced along with associated valves and site restoration. The project will include the installation of two valves at their water treatment plant. The new valves will provide more flexibility and control of operations.
