Project Description

An environmental report was received in April 2023 by U.S. Department of Agriculture for a water treatment facility and distribution upgrade project in the City of Alpha. The project was reduced on 4/24/2024 to the following: New well pumps and drop pipe at both wells, construction of a new water treatment plant and demolition of the old, replace all the existing cast iron water main, replace valves and hydrants throughout the city, installation of a new meter system. The categorical exclusions applied are 1970.54(a)(4) and 1970.54(b)(2). No extraordinary circumstances apply to the proposed action pursuant to 40 CFR 6.204(b). This statement is based on information gathered as part of U.S. Department of Agriculture NEPA review conducted at the proposed action site.
