Project Description

Town of West Union (Town) owns and operates a wastewater collection system and a 200,000 gallons per day (GPD) wastewater treatment plant that was constructed in 1998. The system has deteriorated, resulting in an increase in operation and maintenance costs compounded by an increase in flows coming from the largest user, North Central Regional Jail. Without completing significant infrastructure improvements, the system will not be able to adequately treat the additional sewage volume, resulting in discharge exceedances into Middle Island Creek.
