Project Description

The proposed project encompasses upgrades to the existing control systems and telemetry systems utilized for the water treatment plants and water distribution facilities. The upgrades will implement networking between all control panels, improve performance, and minimize health risks to residents and the environment. The following is a breakdown of the upgrades that will be implemented: A. The Rolling Mill Water preatment Plant: A network control system upgrade is required to improve sequencing and control coordination. The treatment plant is currently equipped with multiple independent control systems that are not properly coordinated. In addition, obsolete wastewater and decant pump control panels, which are no longer supported by the manufacturer, are problematic. B. Leslie Water Treatment Plant: Upgrade the Master Control Panel, install new Allen Bradley Compact Logix PLC, replace all tone and time pulse equipment with new cellular communications. C. Irishtown Pump Station and Tank: Replace leased line tone telemetry equipment with cellular communications to the Rolling Mill Water Treatment Plant. Install new Allen Bradley Compact Logix PLC for Booster Pump Control. D. Raw Water Pump Station: Replace leased line tone telemetry equipment with cellular communications. Install new Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC for Raw Water Pump control and communications to Rolling Mill Water Treatment Plant. E. 1-95 Razor Strap Pump Stations: Replace leased line tone telemetry equipment and install new Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC for Booster Pump control.
