Title
EPA Community Grant for the Adkins Water Transmission Main Line Project, SCDocument Number
N2024317Document Type
CATEXProject Description
Greenville Water owns and operates an existing 72-inch transmission main that extends from the Adkins Water Treatment Plant east to the Cedar Rock Storage Tanks. The existing main is aging and may be susceptible to failures from unanticipated manufacturing defects dating back to its production over 40 years ago. Greenville Water will construct a new 60-inch transmission main parallel to the existing 72-inch main to provide partial redundancy in the event of a main break or need to take either line out of service for maintenance. The Adkins Water Transmission Main Line Project will involve Phase 2 construction of the remaining 31,810 LF of the main, which will extend from just west of Amberwood Road to just east of Doodle Trail. Together, the existing and new mains will provide support for a rapidly expanding region in South Carolina and ensure the continued deliverance of Greenville WaterÂ’s potable water to all partners.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
