Project Description

The Farmdale Sanitation District (FSD) recently took ownership of 6 privately owned wastewater systems that had a history of poor performance and violations with the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Division of Water (DOW). In an effort to provide customers with safe and reliable sewer service, the FSD proposes to construct the Phase 1 Sewer Project. This project will eliminate the failing packaged treatment plants located in the Coolbrook, Edgewood, and Farmdale Subdivisions. In total, the project will serve approximately 749 customers (429 in Coolbrook, 132 in Edgewood and 188 in Farmdale). The project includes construction of a 0.75 million gallon per day (MGD) Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), two pump stations, approximately 13,000 LF of associated force mains, 9,300 LF of 10”, 12”, and 16” interceptor sewer, and the decommissioning of three Packaged WWTPs. This project is in accordance with the approved 2009 KY DOW Wastewater Facility Plan.
