Project Description

The project will: install a 1,400 square foot bioretention cell that will capture runoff from 14,000 square feet of parking lot and roof area; construct a 5,000 square foot native meadow with approximately 4,240 native plants and walking paths on the campus of the Friends House Retirement Community; remove 7,200 square feet of impervious surface and plant 75 native trees to increase the forested buffer between developed land and the Muddy Branch; construct a 14,000 square foot meadow using native grasses and plants at the Clarksburg Church; convert three acres of lawn to forest which includes planting 600 native shade trees at 28 addresses across Montgomery County; remove 1,000 square feet of non-native invasive plants and plant 25 trees or shrubs and approximately 50 herbaceous plants across 1,000 square feet on the campus of the Forum Condominiums; and plant 475 native urban shade trees at hundreds of addresses in Montgomery County.
