Project Description

The existing Surry County school system’s drinking water system pulls from two wells: the Surry County Elementary School well and the Surry County High School well. The High School well is set to be decommissioned soon, so a new water source will need to be acquired to maintain adequate flow rate for the school system. The project will consist of decommissioning the Surry County High School well and installing a new well behind Surry County Middle School. The well station will include a pitless unit and well development, groundwater well pump, the associated well and yard piping, a new pump house building, and a new hydropneumatic storage tank. Additionally, piping will be installed to connect to the existing distribution system.
