Project Description

The proposed project will upgrade the aging equipment and expand the Water Treatment Plant capacity to meet the future needs of the service area’s growing population. At the WTP, the proposed project will include the following: expansion of the current clear well storage, installation of two new contact and rapid mix trains, installation of five new high-rate clarifiers, installation of four new gravity filters, construction of a new electrical building, installation of a fuel tank, installation of a new standby diesel generator with a subbase tank and separate bulk storage tank, construction of a new chemical storage building, installation of new plate settler clarification, expansion of the current administrative building and additional visitor parking/walkways, replacement of five high service pumps, modifications to chemical storage and feed systems, improvements to residuals handling, improvements to the electrical system/standby power, and replacement of other existing infrastructure and equipment that is near the end of its useful life. At the Raw Water Pumping Station, the proposed project will replace three raw water pumps and add an additional fourth pump. This will bring the total pumping capacity up to 24.7 million gallons per day (MGD). The proposed project will also include the construction of a new 1,350 square foot electrical building at the RWPS to monitor and expand power producing capabilities.
