Project Description

The City of Fairhope plans to install natural gas generators at 22 existing lift/pump stations to reduce sanitary sewer overflows (SSO) during power outages. To improve the local community and avoid direct surface discharge of sewage to receiving waterbodies, the proposed project will allow the lift stations to remain operational during significant storm events, a primary cause of power outages. The proposed project will also involve constructing concrete pads to support the generators.
