Title
Community Grant for Milford Watermains and Hydrants Improvement ProjectDocument Number
N2022013Document Type
CATEXProject Description
The cast iron watermains along York Road, Phylis Lane, and Williams Street are over 50-years old; clogged with iron bacteria; and leaking beyond normal maintenance. The existing water valves and hydrants do not function properly and are also at the end of their useful life. The proposed project consists of replacing the existing 6-inch and 4-inch watermains, hydrants, and valves with new 2,400 length feet of 6-inch diameter cement lined ductile iron pipes; twelve 6-inch gate valves; six hydrant assemblies with connecting pipes, tees, and valves; and 26 3/4-inch service line connections. The construction of new watermains and hydrants will be within the Boroughs right-of-way and all disturbed areas will be restored to its original condition. The new watermains and hydrants will reliably distribute potable water to the Boroughs communities while providing adequate firefighting capabilities.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
