Project Description

A new backup water supply well will be drilled adjacent to the existing water supply well and pump house. This will improve water supply reliability and draw from a deeper aquifer to avoid influence of the nearby Mankato/Lehillier Superfund Site. This project supersedes a 4/23/12 EA/FONSI for a proposed new well in a different location, with water mains, and sanitary and storm sewer mains. That earlier project was not built. The Township revised its project plan and application for an EPA special Appropriations project grant
