Title
Borough of Califon Railroad Avenue/Main Street Stormwater ImprovementsDocument Number
N2015036Document Type
EA/FONSIProject Description
Construction of the proposed stormwater improvements project requires three major components to improve the quality of receiving waters and to increase the groundwater recharge within the project area: 1) Replace the existing antiquated stormwater piping and open channel system extending from Main Street to the natural stream channel on the recently acquired mitigation tract. 2) Construction of a stormwater conveyance relief pipe along Main Street parallel to the existing system of culverts to provide additional capacity to the discharge point at Mill Street, and 3) Construction of mini-diversions from existing tributary rivulets for infiltration and recharge trenches throughout the mitigation tract. Mini-diversions will have sediment traps to reduce sediment load to improve water quality. Mini-diversions are to direct the overbank flows from the rivulets to recharge trenches.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
