CATEXProject Description
After the Moosepac Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is decommissioned, the disposal fields will no longer receive wastewater; all underground piping will be abandoned in place. The new forcemain will be constructed from the existing pump station at northeastern corner of Chamberlain Road and Berkshire Valley Road to the existing manhole at White Rock Boulevard, raw sewage will be conveyed from the Moosepac STP to the White Rock Lake STP for continuous wastewater treatment. To improve conveyance system reliability, the wastewater pumps will need to be replaced at the Moosepac STP pump station and at the Chamberlain/ Berkshire Valley Road pump station. To accommodate the additional sludge to be generated from wastewater treatment at the White Rock Lake STP, an existing 25,000 gallon sludge holding tank will be replaced with a 50,000 gallon tank. The natural turf above the existing underground Moosepac STP disposal fields will be retained as part of the Chamberlain Fields for continuous recreational use.EPA Region/Headquarters Office
