Project Description

The existing 577-foot long by 3-foot wide by 2-foot deep mini box culvert that runs parallel to Prince Street between Strand Street and Queen Street and the 560-foot long by 8-foot wide by 2.5-foot deep open channel on North Street and Water Gut Street in the vicinity of the Sea Plane Shuttle Office cannot accommodate the volume of stormwater runoff. Both the culvert interior and open channel are clogged with sediment and debris, and the adjacent roadways and nearby residential and commercial properties flood during heavy precipitation events from stormwater overflows. In addition, the existing access manholes associated with the box culvert are severely corroded and pose a hazard to pedestrians in the area. The proposed project consists of inspections and cleaning to remove all sediment and debris from the open channel, mini box culvert interior, and all associated inlets. The existing manholes will be removed and replaced with Neenah grates.
